When Earth Wind & Fire founder Maurice White passed away earlier this year, he left behind a incredibly soulful body of work. Across the country, bands took time out from their shows to honor White’s life and accomplishments, sharing his words and songs.

The Nth Power, who follow in White’s path of mixing positivity, spirituality and joy with music, decided to go all out in a musical tribute to the fallen legend, bringing together an all-star cast of guest musicians for an unbelievable night of magic at the famed One Eyed Jacks during Jazz Fest in New Orleans, LA last week.

Joining Nikki Glaspie, Nick Cassarino, Nate Edgar, Weedie Braimah and Courtney J’Mell Smith of The Nth Power onstage were: Ian Neville of Dumpstaphunk, Adam Smirnoff of Lettuce, Oteil Burbridge of The Allman Brothers and Dead & Company, Kofi Burbridge of Tedeschi Trucks Band, Jennifer Hartswick, Natalie Cressman and James Casey of the Trey Anastasio Band, the madman of sax, Skerik, and Farnell Newton of the Othership Connection to deliver a selection of Earth Wind & Fire songs that will soon become legend.

Our own Rex Thomson was on hand to film the show in its entirety. Though the very ground shook with the weight of the epic jams that came pouring from the instruments and hearts of the band and the dancing throngs on hand to witness the spectacle, the music they played that night rang out loud and clear.
