Phish Referenced On ABC Sitcom ‘Black-ish’ [Watch]

ABC’s Black-ish is the latest television show to get a laugh out of a Phish reference. Now in it’s fourth season, the popular sitcom follows the Johnsons, an upper-middle class African-American family living in a predominantly white suburb of Los Angeles. Much of the comedy on Black-ish deals with family patriarch Andre Johnson’s (Anthony Anderson) interactions with suburban white culture, which makes Phish a totally unsurprising target of the show’s humor.

The joke in question appeared during a conversation between Andre Johnson and his wife, Dr. Rainbow Johnson (Tracee Ellis Ross), on last week’s episode, “Bow Knows”. You can check it out below.
