This past Saturday, May 26th, the 8th annual Greenwich Town Party saw performances by a lineup of world-class musicians including Eric ClaptonTedeschi Trucks BandPreservation Hall Jazz Band, Trout Steak Revival, and Charlie Scopoletti & The Truth. Full videos have now surfaced online of both Tedeschi Trucks Band and Eric Clapton’s sets, so everyone can enjoy the performances from this intentionally exclusive event for the Greenwich, CT community.

After various performances throughout the afternoon, Tedeschi Trucks Band took the penultimate time slot at the event’s main stage. The set featured the 12-piece ensemble’s well-balanced mix of powerful originals (like “I Want More”, “Laugh About It”, “Bound For Glory”, “Idle Wind”, “Get What You Deserve”, and “Midnight In Harlem”) and classic blues and soul covers (like “Leavin’ Trunk”, “How Blue Can You Get?”, and “I Wish I Knew How It Would Feel To Be Free”).

TTB also worked in a rendition of “All My Friends”, the Scott Boyer original that Gregg Allman recorded on his debut solo album, 1973’s Laid Back. With May 26th also marking the one-year anniversary of Gregg’s death in 2017, the tribute took on considerable emotional weight. Following Tedeschi Trucks Band’s performance, Eric Clapton closed out the festival with a headlining set on the main stage. Clapton delivered a set full of his live fan-favorites. As previously reported, Clapton was joined by Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi for an encore rendition of Robert Johnson classic “Crossroads” to bring the event to a close. The latest collaboration between Clapton, Trucks, and Tedeschi, who have performed together on a few occasions, most notably during past editions of Clapton’s Crossroads Guitar Festival and during one of the Allman Brothers Band‘s 2009 shows at New York City’s Beacon Theatre.
