With the NBA Playoffs well underway, NPR is helping music fans fulfill their basketball jones with a pro-shot live performance of “Game Winner”, written and performed by Joey Dosik, the multitalented singer-songwriter-pianist-saxophonist best known for his work with Vulfpeck. The clip is as satisfying to watch as it is to listen to, as a camera pans around Dosik, showing beautiful angles of the guitar-packed confines of the venue and the electronic light display over the keyboard that corresponds to his playing in real time.

As the post from NPR notes:

NBA playoffs on your mind? There’s no better time to watch Joey Dosik perform the title track from Game Winner, his EP love songs inspired by basketball written after suffering a knee injury during a pick-up game. Watch Dosik perform from Big Wrench Piano Care in Brooklyn.

Dosik, a well-noted basketball fan, often uses “Game Winner” as a vehicle for basketball-oriented narrations and other hijinks during his live performances. Dosik’s comrades in Vulfpeck wound up liking the song so much that they recorded a version of the track for Thrill of the Arts in 2015. Dosik now plays that song and others with Vulfpeck during many of their performances. He’s also had the distinction of singing the national anthem ahead of a New York Knicks game at Madison Square Garden, a highlight for any basketball lover.
