Whenever Phish comes to Saratoga Springs, NY for their almost-annual party at SPAC, you can count on the downtown area to be the scene for some late-night antics. This year, Live For Live Music and Putnam Den have you covered all three nights with some incredible performances scheduled, including The Heavy Pets, Pink Talking Fish, and Cosmik Playground (a superjam lineup paying tribute to Frank Zappa) all ready to keep the party going late into the night.

Friday, July 1st

Florida jam-rockers The Heavy Pets are no strangers to the late-night Phish scene, and for the first night of the SPAC run, get ready for an 80’s Dance Party! The Pets will be playing host to a throwback set of some of your favorite 80’s classics. Expect a little Prince, David Bowie, A-Ha, Flock of Seagulls, Tears for Fears and some other goodies as special guests The Hornitz, vocalist Hayley Jane and percussionist Ryan Clausen (Hayley Jane and the Primates), the Magnaterrestrial Dancers and more join in for what is sure to be a throwdown on this first night of Phish-y celebrations.

Saturday – July 2nd

The hybrid-fusion act Pink Talking Fish pays tribute to Pink Floyd, the Talking Heads, and Phish. The group will be showcasing their seamless transitions from one song to the next, such as “Run Like Hell > Psycho Killer > Run Like An Antelope > Run Like Hell or Mike’s Song > Have A Cigar > Once In A Lifetime > Weekapaug Groove.” Consisting of founder/bassist Eric Gould, keyboardist Richard James, guitarist Dave Brunyak, and drummer Zack Burwick, this is going to be great way to continue sharing in the groove into the late night after Phish.

Sunday – July 3rd

Percussionist and long-time Frank Zappa band member Ed Mann will be spearheading a funk-filled tribute to his late bandleader, billed as Cosmik Playground, and will be joined by some of the jam scenes best, with keyboardist Todd Stoops (RAQ), guitarist Marcus Rezak (Digital Tape Machine), drummer Scotty Zwang (Dopapod), bassist Dan Lotito and special guest guitarist Gabriel Marin (Consider the Source).

Nyack, NY prog-funk rockers ShwizZ will be lending their support and sitting in during the set as well, for what is sure to be a grand finale to this epic three-night run of shows on Sunday, July 3rd. Tickets are $15adv / $20dos and can be purchased here.
