Back in August 2016, Aaron Neville celebrated his 75th birthday a few months early with an all-star bash at New York City’s Brooklyn Bowl alongside a mix of his New Orleans musical family and friends that included the late Dr. John, George Porter Jr., Ivan Neville, Dumpstaphunk, Eric Krasno, and more.
In congruence with this epic celebration, the soulful singer stopped by The Late Show With Stephen Colbert for a television performance of “Be Your Man” with help from Krasno and Jon Batiste in support of his then-new album, Apache.
The night was a revolving door of talent, bringing in a vibrant mix of fan-favorite players from the New Orleans scene. With George Porter Jr. kicking things off, and funk powerhouse Dumpstaphunk to follow, with surprise guest Brandon “Taz” Niederauer, Aaron Neville closed the stage with Eric Krasno and special guest Dr. John.
