David Gilmour Calls On Actor Benedict Cumberbatch To Perform "Comfortably Numb" In London [Watch]

Actor Benedict Cumberbatch, known for his roles in The Imitation Game, Sherlock, and more recently, Doctor Strange, joined David Gilmour at the Royal Albert Hall last night in London. The Oscar nominee joined the Pink Floyd singer/guitarist for a version of “Comfortably Numb.”

While fans might not have expected this collaboration, Cumberbatch pulled it off quite well – considering the stage presences. Keeping with his theatrical side, he performed the verses originally sung by Roger Waters. The English actor has previous experience in the studio, recording a song “Can’t Keep It Inside” for the August: Osage County soundtrack in 2013. With the approval of Sir Gilmour, we can see that “The Most Eligible Bachelor in Britain” has more than just his acting career to flaunt… though we don’t recommend that he switch careers; acting is most definitely more of Cumberbatch’s thing.

Gilmour is in the middle of a five-show stand at the Royal Albert Hall, supporting his most recent release Rattle The Lock from 2015. He will return to the stage on September 29th and 30th.
