It’s been nine months since David Bowie left this Earth. With entertainers finding more ways to artistically honor him, we flock to any semblance of the Starman’s legacy left behind. Last night at the 2016 Hyundai Mercury Prize ceremony, actor Michael C. Hall (Dexter) honored Bowie with a particularly moving performance of “Lazarus”, the first track of his final Blackstar record, which hauntingly begins, “Look up here, I’m in heaven.”

Hall’s performance comes after playing the leading role in Bowie’s off-Broadway musical Lazarus. It was one of Bowie’s final projects that he finished before his passing, which came unexpectedly to most. Hall will travel with the show to London next month, maintaining the lead role.
