After making headlines yesterday with the release “Come Back Haunted”, the first single off their new album, and the unveiling of dates for a full Fall tour, Nine Inch Nails is now without King Crimson guitarist Adrian Belew. According to Consequence of Sound, Belew posted a message (that has now been deleted), saying:
“hey folks, before this goes too far let me say this: I greatly respect trent and the music he makes. no one is at fault. we both agreed it just was not working. I’m sorry to disappoint anyone. that really hurts. but NIN will do an amazing show and I am back where I belong: creating FLUX.”
The message was replaced by this, much shorter statement from Adrian Belew:
“concerning me being part of the 2013 Nine Inch Nails band: it didn’t work.”
This departure comes on the heels of bassist Eric Avery’s decision to leave the band last month. Not necessarily the best way to start the journey to the release of Hesitation Marks and the upcoming tour for NIN mastermind Trent Reznor. For a full list of tour dates, click here.
