Run The Jewels will headline the inaugural Adult Swim Festival when the event takes over The Row DTLA in Los Angeles on October 6th and 7th.
Unfortunately, we don’t really have a lot of details on the festival beyond that. The Adult Swim Festival website notes that the gathering will feature “many more music acts”, “comedy performances”, “previews of your favorite shows”, “exhilarating games” and “eye opening experiences.”
One thing we do have is a new Run The Jewels music video starring the titular characters from Adult Swim’s hit show Rick and Morty. The new clip for the RTJ3 track, titled “Oh Mama”, was directed by Rick and Morty episode director/storyboard artists Juan Meza-León. Unsurprisingly, the video finds our protagonists engaging in the “high-concept sci-fi rigamarole” we all know and love.
Run The Jewels is not the first major musical act to outwardly show to Rick and Morty. In the wake of the bizarre McDonald’s “Szechuan Sauce” phenomenon sparked by the show’s long-awaited season three premiere, Canadian DJ Deadmau5 spent north of $15K for a big jug of the coveted sauce on eBay, and proceeded to distribute it to his fans (along with more than 1,000 McNuggets) at a performance in Toronto.
