Earlier this summer, Real Estate bassist Alex Bleeker decided to shoot a video for his song “Step Right Up,” which he performs with Alex Bleeker and the Freaks, on Phish lot. As any true fan knows, the party outside the venue before the show is where it’s at. The Brooklyn based artist had this to say about choosing the Phish lot scene as his location,
“It is my opinion that Phish has the most enthusiastic concert-going music fans in the world. The choice to shoot this video in the parking lot of one of their shows this summer was simple. This was the only large crowd I could think of that would lovingly embrace and interact with a man in an antler helmet without a moment’s pause. ”
For anyone that has had the opportunity to hang on a Phish lot prior to a show, there is a sense of camaraderie that not many other scenes have, with exception for acts like the Grateful Dead and Jimmy Buffett, both of which sport wildly rabid fan bases and epic lot scenes.
