The Allman Betts Band helped close out Daze Between New Orleans last week with a special guest-filled New Orleans Family Revival set at Mahalia Jackson Theater. In newly pro-shot footage, the band led by Allman Brothers Band heirs Devon Allman and Duane Betts offers a memorable take on “Dreams” with help from guitarist Eric Krasno and  The Dirty Dozen Brass Band.

The dreamy ABB cover came toward the end of the band’s first of two festival-closing sets, which also saw special guest appearances from George Porter, Jr., Ivan Neville, G. Love, and Anders Osborne. The song featured soulful lead vocals by Devon Allman, who also traded guitar licks with Krasno, and a bluesy slide solo from the Allman Betts Band’s third guitarist, Johnny Stachela.

The band would go on to finish the set off with a cover of Sonny Boy Williamson‘s “One Way Out” (which the Allman Brothers Band included on its 1972 album Eat a Peach) featuring Kras, Ivan Neville, Anders Osborne, and G. Love before returning for a jam-heavy second set and encore.
