Well, they didn’t have to catch them, no. The Wayne County police department of Georgia did not have to catch the Midnight Rider biopic film director Randall Miller and producer Jody Savin after they turned themselves in Tuesday for being charged on the involuntary manslaughter of fellow film crew associate Sarah Jones.

Sarah Jones was a camera assistant for the project. It seems as though at least one scene was being filmed by a set of active train tracks, where the crew were informed to ditch all equipment should a train approach. Unfortunately, it was easier said than done, as the impact of the train accident turned fatal for Jones in February of this year.

The dream sequence apparently being filmed was the furthest production of the picture, which was put on hold after the tragedy. At this point, with the charges hanging over the heads of director Randall Miller and producers Jody Savin & Jay Sedrish (they all face up to 10 years for involuntary manslaughter), the project seems to be ‘tied down to the whipping post’ for the foreseeable future.
