Singer Andra Day steps into the Hollywood spotlight for her feature film debut in director Lee Daniels‘ forthcoming Billie Holiday biopic, The United States vs. Billie Holiday.

The film is scheduled to arrive exclusively on Hulu next month on February 26th and will chronicle the era in Holiday’s life when the acclaimed jazz singer was on trial for narcotics possession in 1947. The United States vs. Billie Holiday also stars Trevante Rhodes, Natasha Lyonne, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, and Garrett Hedlund, and the film is the first from Lee Daniels since his Academy Award-nominated 2013 film The Butler.

Andra Day, who stars as Holiday, saw her own breakthrough in recent years thanks to her 2015 debut studio album Cheers to the Fall and its hit single “Rise Up”.
