UPDATE 2: We spotted this Aphex Twin logo by the Bedford Station in Brooklyn!

Richard David James, aka Aphex Twin, has not released new music under his familiar moniker since 2009. With a storied history that spans the formative years of the electronic music genre, fans are eager for an Aphex Twin comeback. Thus, the sighting of a blimp with the Aphex Twin logo, used as the 0 in 2014, has naturally opened the floodgates for speculation.

The blimp was spotted over the Oval Space venue in London, as seen below:

The iconic Aphex Twin logo was also seen twice in NYC, on the corner of 14th and 8th and outside of Radio City Music Hall. While the blimp is significantly more elaborate than the stencils, these images are certainly hinting towards the return of Aphex Twin. Check out the two NYC stencils below:

A new Aphex Twin album would be the first since 2001’s Drukqs. We’ll be sure to update if this is confirmed!

UPDATE: It appears that the Aphex Twin hints have matriculated into an album announcement! Fresh from the “Deep Web,” Aphex Twin posted this link to his Twitter: http://syro2eznzea2xbpi.onion. Following the link leads to a text document with the album title, SYRO, what appears to be a 12-song tracklisting, and the cover art below:
