After 11 long years, rappers Slug (Atmosphere) and Murs (Living Legends) have reunited as Felt, a supergroup the duo brought to life back in 2002.  On Friday, August 7th, Felt surprised fans around the world with the release of Felt 4 U, the group’s fourth studio album.

Like any good album from this longtime supergroup, Felt 4 U required some top-notch production. Felt turned to Ant, Slug’s partner in Atmosphere and producer of the group’s second album, Felt Vol. 2: A Tribute to Lisa Bonet. Their habit of enlisting close friends and frequent collaborators as producers has always seemed to pay off. Whether it’s Murs’ fellow living legends counterpart The Grouch or longtime Rhymesayers Entertainment artist Aesop Rock, who produced Felt 3: A Tribute to Rosie Perez, each album has arrived with a totally different vibe, but the same hard-hitting and conscious rhymes fans have come to expect from the group.

Speaking of past producers, both The Grouch and Aesop Rock made their way onto this latest album, with each taking a verse on “Hologram”. Other features include Shepard Albertson on “Crimson Skies” and Blimes on “Underwater”.

On Saturday, Blimes showed gratitude to Felt for inclusion on the album and thanked fans for helping it reach #1 on the iTunes Hip-Hop Albums Chart.
