The ACL lineup marks the second announced solo show by Sturgill Simpson since 2021. The country singer-songwriter shocked fans last month by announcing a headlining set at Outside Lands in San Francisco, marking his first show of his own after canceling his tour midway due to vocal cord issues three years ago. In the past year, however, he has sat in with Margo Price and members of the Grateful Dead and Goose.

Tuesday’s lineup announcement also marks an addition to Pretty Lights’ so-far sparse touring calendar. Currently, the enigmatic and highly influential electro-soul DJ/producer who returned in 2023 from a five-year hiatus has only announced festival appearances at Bonnaroo and Electric Forest along with a two-night headlining run at Hampton Coliseum in Virginia, set for later this month.
