Following a thrilling 2023 debut, AVLFest will return for its second annual installment from August 1st–4th, 2024 in Asheville, NC. Among the top acts set to take over 20 venues across town are AVL’s own Papadosio and Town Mountain along with Beachwood Sparks, Blitzen Trapper, and S.G. Goodman.
Presented by Wicked Weed Brewing and Worthwhile Sounds, AVLFest will present well over 100 acts playing for four days throughout the Western North Carolina music haven in a SXSW-style event. A wristband will grant attendees access to all shows, with no separately ticketed headliners.
Among the loaded phase one lineup are River Whyless, The Mother Hips, Susto, The Heavy Heavy, Jon Stickley Trio, Joslyn & The Sweet Compression, Toubab Krewe, Tyler Ramsey, Larry Keel Experience, Dylan LeBlanc, Yarn, Dangermuffin, Jeff Sipe Trio, and many, many more. The festival prides itself on showcasing the diverse musical identity of Asheville, presenting a healthy majority of local acts. This year will also feature performances by Asheville mainstays Andrew Scotchie, Appalachian Renegades, Ashley Heath & Her Heathens, Beekeepers (ft. Papadosio’s Rob McConnell), The Dirty French Broads, Dr. Bacon, Harriers of Discord, Hustle Souls, Issac Hadden Organ Trio, Josh Clark’s Visible Spectrum, The Maggie Valley Band, The Snozzberries, Supatight, Yesterday’s Clothes, and lots more.
“Our community showed their belief and support in our first AVLFest in 2023,” Cory Cunningham, Senior Director of Sales and Marketing of Wicked Weed Brewing, said, “be it through our world-class venue participation and partnership, the local, regional, and national musicians who showcased their creative spirits, our premier sponsors of Explore Asheville, Bears BBQ, and FIRC Group through their unwavering support, and above all each and every passholder from near and far who chose to spend their dollars to join us. We are beyond thrilled to partner with everyone once again for another year; celebrating everything Asheville has to offer through the medium of live music in 2024.”
These acts will spread out among local hotspots Salvage Station, The Orange Peel, The Grey Eagle, Ashville Music Hall, The Outpost, Highland Brewing Company, French Broad River Brewery, The Funkatorium, The Odd, One World West, and others throughout town. Joining the lineup of venues in 2024 are Jack of the Wood and Asheville’s buzzworthy new venue Eulogy.
GA and VIP tickets for AVLFest 2024 are on sale here for $135 and $250 respectively. Local patrons can avoid ticketing fees by purchasing their passes in person at Harvest Records and Records in the RAD. A portion of this year’s ticket proceeds will benefit Asheville Music Professionals, “a local nonprofit driving education, advocacy, and collaboration in the western North Carolina music community.”
