Budding Australian psych-rockers Babe Rainbow soak up some rays in a new live video of “Rainbow Rock”. The clip comes from an upcoming free webcast from Levitation, set to air on March 27th at 7 p.m. CT.

Bursting open with some unmistakable Grateful Dead chords, Babe Rainbow takes a garage jam and turns it into something original. Though the band is imbued with homages to psychedelic forefathers, when Angus Darling‘s vocals come in Babe Rainbow inscribes itself into the next chapter of the burgeoning Australian underground scene so favored by Levitation.

“We wanted to go so big it was almost psychedelic, so much juice you’d almost drown, and we knew we had to play all the old songs at the farm in Coorabel because all the old songs were recorded there,” the band said of the session. “The Babe Rainbow is a rococo palace built to the most powerful God of all… mass entertainment. We hope you enjoy and look forward to seeing you in person on tour soon…”
