BacklineTour Health Research Initiative Vnion (THRIV) have joined forces to create a music industry support group, titled Come Together: COVID-19 Crisis, to help working professionals navigate the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic. The support groups set to take place this week are sponsored by VEVO.

The coronavirus quarantines, and the developing financial crisis that is sure to follow, impacts few industries more than live music and events. With touring, music festivals, and other mass gatherings representing the majority of the music industry, the cancellations and postponed events are causing huge concern for the professional community that relies heavily on the gig-to-gig lifestyle as their primary means of income.

“In times of uncertainty, the natural human reaction is a spike in anxiety and panic,” THRIV Co-Founder Dr. Chayim Newman said in a press release. “One thing that helps moderate that anxiety is community—the reminder that we’re not alone in it.”

Backline Co-Founder and Clinical Director, Zack Borer, echoed similar sentiments, saying: “We have heard from countless individuals over the last few days [via Backline’s Case Management program] who are understandably scared and concerned about how coronavirus is affecting the music industry. We want you to know that we hear you and that you are not alone,”

Borer will host two webinars along Newman starting today, March 16th, at 6:00 p.m. ET. Monday’s support group is for music industry production and crew members, while Tuesday’s meeting, which is also set for 6:00 p.m. ET, is for artists and artist teams.
