Ben Harper has shared a new original single entitled, “Black Beauty”. Released this week, Harper handles the singing duties along with playing guitar, bass, and percussion on the song that first appeared in Sonia Lowman‘s Black Boys documentary which premiered on Peacock back in September.

The high-energy song also features contributions from singers Travis Taylor, Keisha Gumbs, Karen Porter; drummer Oliver Charles; string player Rebecca Schlappich; and horn players Ron Blake, Francisco Torres, and James King. The accompanying video for “Black Beauty” features a mix of black men and boys ranging from everyday citizens to professional athletes, who are all seen enjoying and examining the beauty of life while the music plays along with Harper belting out the inspiring lyrics,

I am an astronaut
I am a president
I am a revolutionary
I’m your neighbor
We are black
We are beautiful
So beautiful
