The soulfull songstress who dominates todays pop music scene has, once again, left us in awe. Over the past year Beyoncé has played a major part in several philantrophic endevors, donating half a million dollars to Chime for Change in June and supporting over 25 other charities. Today, Queen B gives us one more reason to bow down, contributing 7 million dollars of her own fortune to the Knowles-Temenos Place Apartments in Houston, Texas–a housing facility dedicated to helping low-income persons on their journey to self-sufficiency.

According to their website, those at the Knowles-Temenos Place Apartments provide services such as “outreach, meals, job readiness, HIV/AIDS screenings and education, case management services, and temporary shelter.”

Over the past five years, while this complex has been thriving, Knowles has not taken any credit for this endevor. The information was only recently revealed in an interview with her childhood pastor and friend Rev. Rudy Rasmus with KHOU. He stated in the interview, “She has a global platform and is doing some amazing work. I’m glad she’s a friend of mine.”

Beyoncé consistantly utilizes her celebrity status to bring awarness to her humanitarian endevors. This specific event shows her depth of character and the generosity that she posesses, as she quietly and covertly shows support for this community.
