Fresh off his performance at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, beloved funk masters Big Sam’s Funky Nation have announced an exciting set at the Highline Ballroom in New York, NY on June 3rd. Big Sam is one of the premier groove-bringers to the live music scene, powering festivals and venues wherever they roam. With Big Sam holding things down on the trombone, and his tight-knit group of Funky Nationers behind him, there’s no limit to how much fun these shows can be.
Big Sam got his first big break with the Dirty Dozen Brass Band at 19, before deciding to let loose and form his own project. Fast forward a decade, and Big Sam is flying high with his Funky Nation. The band has performed at some of the most acclaimed music festivals, including Jazz Fest, Telluride Blues & Brews, Gathering of the Vibes, Bonnaroo, Austin City Limits, Voodoo, LEAF and so many more. It’s never a dull moment when Big Sam’s Funky Nation comes to town.
The band will be supported by Drumadic, a percussive play on the word dramatic featuring even more grooves. With this crew kicking things off and BSFN holding it down, this is one show you won’t want to miss. Tickets are available now, and can be purchased here.
