Billy Corgan will introduce audiences to his new band The Machines of God this summer on the A Return To Zero Tour. The 16-date tour will see the Smashing Pumpkins frontman celebrate the band’s classic albums Mellon Collie and The Infinite Sadness and Machina/The Machines of God and its companion Machina II/The Friends & Enemies of Modern Music in a stripped-back format [ticketing details].

A press release promises a “four-piece, two set guitar lineup in which music from these seminal Pumpkins albums were created.” Corgan will perform classic tracks and deep cuts from the albums alongside new Smashing Pumpkins guitarist Kiki Wong (who replaced longtime touring guitarist Jeff Schroeder in 2024), drummer Jake Hayden (Nick Carter, Dorothy), and bassist Kid Tigrrr (NIIGHTS).

The A Return to Zero tour will kick off on June 7th at the 1,000-capacity Baltimore Soundstage. The tour will visit intimate venues in Boston (6/9), Toronto (6/12), New York City (6/15), Philadelphia (6/16), Detroit (6/19), Pittsburgh (6/23), Cleveland (6/25), and more before wrapping on June 29th in Minneapolis. Billy Corgan and The Machines of God will also perform festival sets at Taste of Joliet in Joliet, IL (6/20) and Summerfest in Milwaukee (6/27).

An artist pre-sale for tickets to the Billy Corgan and The Machines of God A Return to Zero tour will begin Tuesday, April 1st at 10 a.m. local time. Tickets will go on sale to the general public Friday, April 4th at 10 a.m. local time via Ticketmaster. Click below for a full list of tour dates.

This tour supplements milestone celebrations for Machina/The Machines of God (2000) and Mellon Collie and The Infinite Sadness (1995). Corgan’s Madame Zuzu’s tea shop in Highland Park, IL will exclusively offer an expansive 80-song box set combining Machina/The Machines of God and its companion Machina II/The Friends & Enemies of the Modern Music for the first time, featuring 32 additional bonus tracks of demos, outtakes, and live performances. The band will release a 16-song reissue of the original Machina/The Machines of God on vinyl on August 22nd, with pre-orders starting June 27th.

To celebrate the anniversary of 1995’s groundbreaking Mellon Collie and The Infinite Sadness, Corgan has partnered with Chicago’s Lyric Opera for the world premiere of A Night of Mellon Collie and Infinite Sadness. Corgan will team up with the Lyric Opera of Chicago Orchestra and Chorus for seven showings of the reinterpretation of the classic album from November 21st through 30th.
