After a historic run of 104 concerts across ten years, Billy Joel will play the final concert of his Madison Square Garden residency on July 25th, 2024. The “Piano Man” and iconic New Yorker will end the record-setting run with his 150th lifetime concert at the World’s Most Famous Arena.
Joel originally revealed back in June that he planned to close the books on his iconic residency in July 2024. The tradition began back in January 2014 with Joel playing one show at Madison Square Garden every month for “as long as the demand continues,” as Joel said at the time. As Joel’s MSG show count continued to stack up over the years, he was honored with a parade of banners lifted into the venue’s rafters including setting the record for “most lifetime performances by any artist.” He also joined the ranks of the New York Knicks and New York Rangers as an official Madison Square Garden franchise, the first-ever musician to do so.
On July 18th, 2018, the state of New York awarded the native Long Islander with his own “Billy Joel Day” in recognition of his 100th show. That same night, special guest Bruce Springsteen swung by the Garden to help Joel celebrate the milestone. Over the years, Joel’s residency has hosted an impressive list of surprise guests including Paul Simon, John Mayer, Brian Johnson, Miley Cyrus, and many more. Throughout the course of the run, Joel has sold over 1.6 million tickets to fans from all 50 states and in more than 120 countries.

Tickets for the final show of the Billy Joel Madison Square Garden residency go on sale to the public on Friday, November 10th at 10 a.m. ET. Citi Cardmembers will have first access to a pre-sale beginning Monday, November 6th at 10 a.m. ET and running through Thursday, November 9th at 10 p.m. ET. Due to high demand, it may be difficult to purchase tickets right away so fans are encouraged to check Ticketmaster periodically throughout the day.
