It’s tough to kick a man while he’s down–but the ongoing drama surrounding the disastrous Fyre Fest debacle of 2017 continues to remain the story that just keeps on burning. Earlier this week, it was reported that Fyre Fest’s co-founder and convicted fraud schemer Billy McFarland was in the stages of penning a book about what really took place behind the now-infamous music event.

A report shared by NY Mag stated that a high profile freelance writer/editor named Josh Raad had been recruited by McFarland’s girlfriend to assist the former festival producer on a memoir he’d been working on from behind bars. McFarland is currently in the first year of his six-year sentence for fraud at a medium-security prison in Otisville, New York. His goal behind the book would be to present the actual facts about himself and the event which the two recent documentaries from both Netflix and Hulu had gotten wrong.

Apparently, McFarland has been sending handwritten pages to his girlfriend via mail, who then types out his copy. At the time of the report, his girlfriend stated the end result could accumulate to 800 handwritten pages worth of text, which would take her about “a month and a half to edit.”

According to McFarland, the forthcoming book would also “chronicle his career from the first investment in a now-shuttered start-up back in 2011 to the FBI paying him a visit days after the festival imploded.” At the time, the project has been given a working title of, Promythus: The God of Fyre, potentially due out this spring via Amazon. McFarland also said that he plans to use any profits earned from the book to help cover the $26 million in restitution he owes to his financial victims.

The book was supposed to be ready for a publishing date in April, but as of this week, has yet to appear on the e-commerce website.
