Ringo Starr just wrapped two nights of guest-filled shows at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium, but it was Billy Strings who went home with something special after Jack White gifted him one of his custom Fender Triplesonic Acoustasonic Telecasters (retail value $2,499.99). Strings and White were among the cavalcade of guests at the Mother Church of Country Music to celebrate Starr’s new country album Look Up, including Molly TuttleEmmylou HarrisSheryl CrowJamey Johnson, and more.

“I had to give my Triplesonic guitar I used at the Ringo Ryman event to the great Billy Strings after the show,” White wrote on Instagram following the second show. “It couldn’t be in better hands. Great to play on the same stage with him and so many other incredible players.”

After kicking off the midweek engagement on Tuesday, Ringo and company closed the run on Wednesday with an identical setlist. Both nights were recorded for an upcoming special set to air on CBS and Paramount+ this spring, with some proceeds benefitting victims of the L.A. wildfires. White and Strings were present throughout the concerts, as Jack helped open the show with Carl Perkins‘ “Matchbox” and Billy dug up Rubber Soul‘s “What Goes On” for a duet with Molly Tuttle. With additional appearances by The War and Treaty, famed harmonicist Mickey GuytonLarkin Poe, and others, the Ringo Ryman concerts celebrated the Beatles drummer’s oft-overlooked country side.

Check out some videos and the setlist from Tuesday’s show and revisit Live For Live Music‘s full coverage here. Billy Strings will return to the road later this month for a winter tour, beginning with a three-night run at Denver’s Ball Arena next weekend. Find tickets and tour dates on Ticketmaster.
