Billy Strings teed up his second of three shows at Iroquois Amphitheater in Louisville, filling the concert with fan favorites, time-honored covers, and more for the Kentucky faithful.

With the newly-minted five-piece lineup of Jarrod Walker, Royal Masat, Billy Failing, and Alex Hargreaves,  Billy ignited the first set with Alton Delmore‘s “Sophronie”. The initial at bat would find its way through originals like “While I’m Waiting Here”, “Hollow Heart”, and the set-closing “Highway Hypnosis”, alongside welcome covers of J.J. Cales‘s “Ride Me High”, Pink Floyd‘s “Brain Damage”, and Tony Rice‘s “Manzanita”.

Coming back out for the second set, Billy set off on a continuous string of songs through his own catalog with “The Fire On My Tongue”, “Must Be Seven”, “Pyramid Country”, and through the improvisational highlight, “Hide & Seek”. Strings fit in a customary geographic shout-out with “Kentucky Girl” before Failing got his chance in the limelight for “End Of The Rainbow”. The set wound down with Albert E. Brumley‘s “Rank Stranger” and “Everything’s The Same” before Billy capped the encore-less performance with solo rendition of  “And Am I Born To Die?”.
