Bluegrass buds Billy Strings and Sierra Ferrell had a high time riding horses and trading sit-ins over the weekend at Under the Big Sky Festival in Whitefish, MT.

First, Ferrell posted a selfie with Strings via Instagram stories showing the two on a plane. In the post, she wrote that Strings gave her “his first class seat he got for his guitar,” adding, “he’s gotta have his martin safe yall! Don’t Worry she’s buckled up.”

Ferrell then made a grand entrance at Under the Big Sky on horseback alongside Diplo and performed with her band as the sun started to set on the third and final night of the festival. During her performance, she welcomed Strings to sit in with her group for their 2021 studio collab “Bells of Every Chapel“, marking the second time they performed the song together live.

Strings, who was also spotted on horseback, later reciprocated the sit-in favor during his headlining set, inviting Ferrell out to collaborate on “One Loaf of Bread” by Dave Evans, “Believe” by Cher, and the traditional “Old Man at the Mill”.
