Strings, who made his ACL debut in 2021 and returned to the show in 2024, was billed as “Billy Strings featuring Sierra Hull and Zach Top.” Due to a strictly enforced no phone policy at the taping, videos have been slow to leak out to the public, but Austin City Limits gave fans a taste of the performance with a clip of Strings and Hull joining forces on a Bill Monroe classic.

The full Austin City Limits Celebrates 50 Years program is set to air on Friday, April 4th at 9:00pm ET on PBS, PBS.org, and the PBS App (check your local listings). In addition to musical performances, the special will feature “vintage archival clips, interviews, and a special tribute from Dolly Parton.”
