Billy Strings has detailed the pandemic-altered 2020 version of his annual String The Halls holiday event. Rather than an in-person blowout featuring a crew of his favorite musicians, String The Halls: Home For The Holidays Edition will take the form of a daily video series launching on Monday, December 14th and running for twelve days through Christmas Day, Friday, December 25th.
Each day, Billy Strings will post a new performance video to his YouTube channel at 11:00 a.m. ET. Following the final video release, the audio for all twelve performances will be available to purchase/download via Nugs.net. The “12 Days of Bluegrass” series will also include a limited-edition event poster and a selection of prints released each day via Half Hazard Press. All proceeds from the String The Halls: Home For The Holidays Edition video series will benefit Musically Fed, Nashville Rescue Mission, and Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee. Additionally, in support of Billy’s charitable efforts, Nugs.net has launched a special discounted subscription campaign, which is available now through the end of the year. In addition to his crowdless Streaming Strings virtual tour and a run of drive-in concerts, the Michigan native has delivered a number of notable virtual performances, including a three-set show at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in September and a show at an empty Ryman Auditorium with special guest John Mailander in October. Billy Strings also took part in October’s Democracy Comes Alive, a virtual festival to get out the vote presented by Live For Live Music in partnership with HeadCount.
