Neil Young’s frequent back-up band , Crazy Horse, will kick off a European Tour in Reykjavik, Iceland without their bassist, Billy Talbot. The band’s label, Warner Brothers, has announced that Talbot recently suffered a mild stroke. Although he is expected to make a full recovery, doctors advise he sit this one out.

70-year old Talbot has been a member of Crazy Horse since its beginnings in the early ’60’s. At that time, Talbot, Danny Whitten and Ralph Molina were a doo-wop group called Danny and the Memories. Talbot is an integral member of Crazy Horse and will missed immensely.

Rick Rosas, a bassist who has toured with many of Young’s projects in the past, has been called upon to handle the bass duties. Rosas has accompanied Young in Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young and the reformed Buffalo Springfield. The stalwart of the L.A scene has also worked alongside Joe Walsh

Our thoughts and prayers are with Billy Talbot at this time.
