[UPDATE 6/16/21]: Billy & The Kids have added a second concert at Red Rocks Amphitheatre featuring special guests Billy Strings and James Casey. The band explicitly noted in a social media post announcing the second concert, “this will not be a tour.”
The new show will take place on July 12th ahead of the now sold-out original July 13th show. Tickets for the newly announced show go on sale Thursday at 10 a.m. MT. The band has advised fans to “set your alarms, note the time zone, rub your pocket crystals and get ready for the live-audience debut of Billy & the Kids with Billy Strings,” prior to quoting Hunter S. Thompson‘s famous mantra, “Buy the ticket and take the ride…”
[6/14/21]: Billy & The Kids have once again recruited Billy Strings for an onstage collaboration, this time set to occur at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, CO on July 13th. The one-off concert will see the bluegrass picker join Bill Kreutzmann (Grateful Dead), Aron Magner (The Disco Biscuits), Tom Hamilton (Joe Russo’s Almost Dead) Reed Mathis (Tea Leaf Green), and fellow special guest James Casey (Trey Anastasio Band).
The concert will mark Billy & The Kids’ first live-audience show with Strings and Casey, following the extended ensemble’s Grateful Mahalo run of livestreams from Hawaii last month for the Dead drummer’s birthday. That three-night run of fan-less concerts from Kreutzmann’s home on the island of Kauai also sported guest appearances from Carlos Santana and Bill Nershi (The String Cheese Incident).

Tickets for Billy & The Kids with Billy Strings and James Casey at Red Rocks go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. MT via AXS.
