Bob Weir Fills In For David Nelson For Three Nights In Alaska [Videos]

In the beginning of March, Bob Weir announced that he would be stepping in for David Nelson for three nights in Alaska with the David Nelson Band, in light of Nelson’s colon cancer diagnosis and cancellation of several dates of the tour. The sold-out shows, which happened this weekend in Girdwood, Alaska, also saw Katie Skene take the stage, in addition to Barry Sless, John Molo, Pete Sears and Mookie Siegel of the David Nelson Band.

Across the three nights, the David Nelson Band opened the shows sans guests before vocalist Katie Skene would come out for a few tracks with them. Afterward, Bob Weir would take over for a handful of acoustic songs, sometimes solo and sometimes with Skene, before the David Nelson Band would return and join Weir to close out each performance.
