Bob Weir has announced that he and the Wolf Bros will not perform at all for the remainder of 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

In a statement posted to Weir’s social media pages on Thursday afternoon, the band cited “The health, well-being and safety of everyone in our live music community” as their top priority and the impetus behind the cancellation of any remaining 2020 shows. Weir, Don Was, and Jay Lane went on to thank fans for their continued support and understanding, assuring everyone that they cannot wait to get back out on the road.

The statement also clarified refund options, saying: “Fans who purchased tickets for our upcoming shows directly from the official box office will automatically receive a full refund within 30 days. For further ticket information, contact your point of purchase.”

While this is certainly bad news for Deadheads, by now statements like these are completely unsurprising. Just last week, Weir’s “other” band, Dead & Company, was forced to cancel their 2020 summer tour for the same reason. With each passing day, the date at which we can expect live events to resume moves further and further away.
