In the heyday of music festivals with new ones popping up left and right, Bon Iver is the latest musical act to take the plunge. After officially receiving permits earlier this week, Justin Vernon has announced the Eaux Claire Music and Arts Festival, paying homage to his hometown of Eau Claire, Wisconsin.

The event, produced by the people behind Boston Calling, will take place at Foster Farm in Eau Claire, WI from July 17-18. There will be three performance spaces (two outdoor stages + one 6,000 person tent), and artists will be personally curated by Vernon. It expects to hold approximately 25,000 patrons per day, and will offer on-site camping. The venue is about 90 minutes from the Twin Cities and has been described as a “vast, remote, wooded setting.”

Vernon hopes the festival will have a positive impact on his hometown. According to the Eau Claire Chamber of Commerce, the event has the potential to bring eight or nine million dollars of tourism money into the area.
