Bon Jovi will go on a world tour in the summer of 2026, the band’s first extended outing since singer Jon Bon Jovi underwent a vocal surgery in 2022 that left him unsure if he’d ever sing again. The New Jersey-bred glam metal stalwart will kick off the Forever Tour with eight nights at Madison Square Garden before heading to Scotland, Ireland, and England [get tickets].
Since wrapping its spring 2022 tour, Bon Jovi has played only sporadic public shows and a few private parties. On that tour, several outlets reported the titular lead vocalist had trouble singing, with one writer in St. Paul, MN, calling his singing “shockingly poor.” Jon would later reveal in 2024 that he had reconstructive vocal surgery, “something called a medialization because one of my cords was literally atrophied.” While it’s common for many classic rock singers to lose quality in their voices due to various excesses, Jon contended, “The only thing that’s ever been up my nose has been a finger.”
“And so it was very difficult this last decade to have to contend with something that was out of my control, which was … the strong [vocal cord] was literally taking what was left of the weak one,” Jon said during a Q&A at a 2024 Pollstar conference. “So they put a plastic implant in it for the last almost two years now. I’ve been in this rehab, getting it back together, but I’m getting very close.”
While fans waited for news of the singer’s health, a band documentary on Hulu, intentionally titled Thank You, Goodnight, raised further doubts about whether Bon Jovi would return.
“My health has been the first and foremost topic of discussion, but I’m well on the road to recovery there,” Jon said at the Pollstar conference. “If I can’t be great, I’m out.”
So, by Jon Bon Jovi’s own admission, he must be sounding pretty great these days.
The 2026 tour will begin on July 7th at Madison Square Garden, followed by more MSG shows on the 9th, 12th, 14th, 16th, 19th, 21st, and 23rd. The following month, Bon Jovi will head to Edinburgh, Scotland’s Murrayfield Stadium (8/28), ahead of dates at Dublin, Ireland’s Croke Park (8/30) and London, England’s Wembley Stadium (9/4).
