Brandon “Taz” Niederauer will perform the national anthem at Sunday’s AFC Championship game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills, the teenage guitar sensation announced on Friday. Kickoff time for the game at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, MO is set for 6:40 p.m. ET.

“SO grateful to The Kansas City Chiefs for inviting me back to perform the national anthem ahead of the NFL AFC Championship Game this Sunday,” Niederauer wrote on a Facebook post. He continued, “Make sure you tune in early at 6:30PM ET on CBS to catch it!!! #Chiefs #ChiefsKingdom.”

Sunday’s performance won’t mark the first time Taz has performed the national anthem at Arrowhead. On October 27th, 2019, Taz had the honor to perform the national anthem before the Chiefs’ game against the Green Bay Packers for the Sunday night game. Even before that, Taz opened up the Chicago Cubs‘ games against the San Francisco Giants at Wrigley Field in Chicago, IL on May 26th and 27th, 2018. On Friday, February 12th and Saturday, February 13th, Brandon “Taz” Niederauer will perform at the socially-distanced edition of The Funk Sessions at Denver, CO’s Cervantes’. The very limited-capacity shows will also feature vocalists Shira Elias (Turkuaz) and Lyle Divinsky, as well as enigmatic bassist MonoNeon (Prince, Ghost-Note), guitarist/bandleader Eddie Roberts (The New Mastersounds), keyboardist Joey Porter (The Motet), drummer Alvin Ford, Jr. (Pretty Lights, Dumpstaphunk), trumpeter Gabe Mervine, and saxophonist Nick Gerlach.

A portion of proceeds from The Funk Sessions ticket sales will be donated to Backline. Backline is a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that connects music industry professionals and their families with mental health and wellness resources—streamlining access to a network of trusted organizations and care providers that truly understand this line of work.
