Bright Eyes were the featured musical guests on Saturday’s episode of CBS This Morning, where the veteran alternative rock band performed a pair of original tunes from their newly-released studio album, Down In The Weeds Where The World Once Was–their first in nearly a decade.
The band’s appearance on the “Saturday Sessions” segment of the weekly morning news program featured in-studio performances of “Persona Non Grata” along with “Mariana Trench”. The arrival of Down In The Weeds on Friday marks the reunion of key songwriter Conor Oberst with multi-instrumentalists Mike Mogis and Nathaniel Walcott for the first time since 2011’s The People’s Key.

The pro-shot performances welcome viewers into a studio setting, where the band is even joined by a small group of horn players along with Lucius vocalists Jess Wolfe and Holly Laessig during both tunes.
