As expected, The Capitol Theatre and Brooklyn Bowl will host simulcast get-togethers for all three nights of the “Fare Thee Well” Grateful Dead Core Four reunion shows in Chicago’s Soldier Field. From July 3-5, fans can assemble at either venue to watch the show and enjoy the company of like-minded Deadheads.

The announcement was expected, as both venues are owned and operated by Peter Shapiro, who is one of the main promoters for the “Fare Thee Well” concerts. Shapiro had mentioned that he was exploring simulcast options in an interview with Rolling Stone.

This option seems a bit superior to the previously-announced movie theater simulcast. One can only imagine the urge to stand up and dance along with the music, which is out of place for a movie theater experience.

So far, aside from the two venues mentioned, Chicago’s Park West will be hosting a simulcast event as well – but that one will also feature music from Leftover Salmon. According to reports, other venues, including Gypsy Sally’s in Washington, D.C., Sweetwater Music Hall in Mill Valley, California; and Ziggy’s in North Carolina, are expected to simulcast the Chicago concerts as well. Of course, you can always purchase the webcasts and couch tour the shows.

Tickets will be available next Friday, May 22nd, and can be found via the following links to the Capitol Theatre (7/37/4 & 7/5) and Brooklyn Bowl (7/37/4 & 7/5) venues.

The Fare Thee Well shows will see the “Core Four” of the Grateful Dead, Bob Weir, Phil Lesh, Bill Kreutzmann, and Mickey Hart, perform with Trey Anastasio, Jeff Chimenti, and Bruce Hornsby.
