Bruce Hornsby & The Noisemakers have announced a run of intimate performances featuring support from ever-rising jam quartet Eggy.
The five-show Bruce Hornsby/Eggy run will begin on September 27th at Charlottesville, VA’s Jefferson Theater and continue with a two-night stint at Woodstock, NY’s Bearsville Theater on September 29th and 30th. From there, the three-time Grammy Award-winner and the young CT-native rock band will make their way to Washington, D.C.’s 9:30 Club (10/2) and Burlington, VT’s Higher Ground (10/4).
As Hornsby said of the five-show run with Eggy, “There’s something about the intimacy of small club stages that has spurred some of our favorite performances over the past few years. We’ve designed this upcoming run in an attempt to tap into that collective energy in search of ‘lift-off.’ We’re looking forward to sharing stages with those young whippersnappers from Eggy, and hope to create some memorable collaborative moments with them in these vaunted venues.”

The members of Eggy have always been vocal about their reverence for Bruce Hornsby. As the announcement went live on Tuesday, they reflected on how their Hornsby fandom has shaped their approach to music.
Bassist Michael Goodman wrote, “Bruce Hornsby has been the soundtrack to my life, and an infinite source of inspiration for all of us. To be able to share the stage with him is a literal dream come true, and an opportunity that I will remember for the rest of my life.” His post also included a screenshot of a Facebook status update from 2017 reading, “I am going to see my favorite musician of all time tonight. Bruce Hornsby. Here we come.”
Added keyboardist Dani Battat, “I’m not sure where I’d be without Bruce Hornsby and his music. It’s elated me, inspired me, challenged me, moved me to tears, and everything in between.”
“As many of you know,” said guitarist Jake Brownstein in a post of his own, “Bruce’s music has served as a guiding light for myself and the band. He embodies everything I hope to be in my music career. Dedicated, passionate, purposeful, playful, and true. Bruce’s music has been my companion through so many different seasons of my life. He has helped me process the winding road of grief and celebrate the loving sparks of joy.”
