Buddy Guy gave an interview to CBS Chicago recently, in which he reflected on the life of late guitarist B.B. King and being prevented from seeing him in his final days. As we previously reported, manager Laverne Toney had been blocking people from visiting King in the hospital.

BB King’s Manager Won’t Let His Daughter And Friends See Him

“That lady wouldn’t let nobody see him. She would lock out everybody… she didn’t want nobody to see him for some strange reason.” He continued, saying facetiously, “I was just going to go to jail because I was going to kick the door!”

However, the interview swiftly shifted to King’s legacy. “We got all kinds of special effects on guitars now that you punch a button, but his special effect was his left hand, and nobody could never do that like him… I would say he’s the greatest guitar player that ever lived.”
