Out now on Pilot Records and available for purchase on Beatport and iTunes, the new EP Fooled by Pittsburgh production talent Robert Balotsky aka Buku is a flawless fusion of trap and dubstep. Consisting of four solid tracks, “Fooled,” “Booty Clapasaurus,” “Slap It,” and “Tip Toe,” the EP is the soundtrack to a booty poppin’ party from start to finish.
Starting off with “Fooled” listeners are immediately drawn in by a mesmerizing synth line and weighty bass and kept by a unique combination of emotive beats and bass. While “Fooled” is an impressive representation of Buku’s ability to incorporate intricate drum patterns into his tracks, “Booty Clapasaurus” takes the EP to the next level. Combining melodic elements with a heavy trap bass line the track has already received enough positive feedback to generate a fan made video scandalous enough to catch the attention of Buku himself. Featuring lots of dinosaurs and booty-shaking just be careful where you watch it, its definitely NSFW. With voluptuous women galore if this video doesn’t generate attention for the track, its hard to say what will.
“Slap It” features heavy trap elements reminiscent of Flosstradamus and is arguably the most energetic track of the EP. Utilizing a multitude of samples and resoundingly heavy bass, “Slap It” is one to get the crowd on its feet. Without letting off the bass the EP seamlessly flows into its final track, “Tip Toe.” A perfect representation of Buku’s goal to push the boundaries of trap and take the genre to the next level, “Tip Toe” is the ideal meld of hip-hop and bass music.
Clearly a rising star to watch, Buku is currently working on two new tracks “Burry Dem” and “That Thang,” slated to be released August 8th. He has also announced the upcoming tour dates.
