The beloved “Screaming Eagle Of Soul,” Charles Bradley, has unfortunately come down with a serious illness after touring through Europe. The illness has forced Bradley to cancel a few upcoming performances, including dates at Festival of Friends tomorrow, Flood City Music Festival on Saturday August 6th, and a headlining spot at the College Street Music Hall in New Haven, CT on August 11th.
The Festival of Friends announcement refers to Bradley’s condition as a “serious illness,” though no announcement details the nature of the situation. Whatever it is, we’re hoping that Bradley will make a full recovery and resume life on the road.
Festival of Friends is replacing Bradley with the local Monster Truck band from Hamilton, ON. Meanwhile, a combination of Marc Broussard and Anders Osborne will replace Bradley at the Flood City Music Festival, with local band FlowerChild filling in on a secondary stage as well. There will be refunds issued for the lost New Haven performance.
