Dave Grohl and The Foo Fighters have been absolutely killing it lately. Whether it was “Rickrolling” a Westboro Baptist Churck protest, bringing out a fan to help sing Rush’s “Tom Sawyer,” or bringing out Grohl’s doctor to cover The White Stripes’ “Seven Nation Army,” these guys have been having a ton of fun this summer, and it shows.
The latest episode of Grohl being just an all around awesome dude came Monday night at DTE Energy Music Theatre in Clarkston, MI when Grohl pulled a fan named Griffin out of the crowd after seeing him holding up a sign that said “It’s My 50th Let’s Have A Beer.” Taking him up on the offer, Grohl replied, “I know it’s your 50th birthday. We’ve got a lot of songs we’ve got to play tonight. I’m going to share this beer with you, and then I’ve got to do my job.” Grohl added, “Ladies and gentlemen, it’s Griffin’s birthday today. Griffin went to Office Depot and bought one piece of cardboard and a magic marker. There you go, that’s all it takes.”
Take a look at some fan shot video from this great interaction below. Cheers!
