Jazz legend Chick Corea has just announced several more dates for his two-month long residency at The Blue Note. The residency coincides with Corea’s 75th birthday celebration, and the Blue Note has gone all out to bring together an all-star cast of Corea’s friends and collaborators from throughout his career. The absurd 80-show run will now feature a series of duet performances with Chick and another musician. The run will feature three different piano duets, with Brad Mehldau joining Chick on November 18th, fellow jazz icon Herbie Hancock on Novmber 19th, and Fonzalo Rubalcaba on November 20th. Also, Corea will be joined by esteemed guitarist John McLaughlin for a special duet performance on December 7th.
See below for a full list of dates for this incredible celebration of the inimitable Chick Corea. Included with the dates is the lineup of musicians that will play on each night. The run kicks off on 10/19 with a performance by the “Chick Corea Elektric Band”, and will wrap up on 12/11 with a performance by Return to Forever.
