During Jam Cruise 18 this past January, Eric Krasno served as guitarist for Circles Around The Sun‘s two performances. On Tuesday, Jam Cruise uploaded pro-shot video of Krasno and CATS performing “Gilbert’s Groove” during their day two performance on the Pool Deck.

Following original CATS guitar player Neal Casal‘s tragic suicide on August 26th, 2019, the band has continued to tour with other guitarists. This wish was explicitly stated to the band by Casal in his suicide note, along with the request that the band continue to release new music.

After the sun had gone down over the Pool Deck, it was time for the bright, sunny music to pack it in and the hard-hitting jams to come out. That’s exactly the need CATS and Krasno fulfilled with their high-octane performance, especially with this rendition pf “Gilbert’s Groove”. The song, found on the band’s Interludes For The Dead debut release, became larger-than-life when the energy of the monster riffs from Adam MacDougall‘s Moog teamed up with Krasno’s blues-inspired licks. Circles Around The Sun has never been known to cut a jam short, to say the least, and this live cut is certainly no exception as it stretches out past the 10-minute mark of spaced-out bliss.
