Cool Cool Cool has released “Dynamite”, a second new single to complement recent release “Made Ya Look”. The two complementary tracks highlight the dynamic female vocals and steamy dance grooves at the core of the seven-piece’s sound via empowering messages of personal growth and confidence, reminding listeners that they are the best version of themselves while inspiring them to forge their own paths.

“Made Ya Look” mixes a nostalgic, disco-soul feel with bold, brassy grooves and subtly deployed effects, allowing it to feel both fresh and nostalgic as Shira Elias asserts unabashed confidence on lead vocals (“You’re gonna hear about it”). Sammi Garett, the other half of Cool Cool Cool’s vocal coin, takes a more pensive, slow-burn approach to themes of self-liberation and resilience on “Dynamite” before the chorus explodes with horns and bass into a joyous funk dance party (“Some things you’ll never learn, I was just born to burn.”)

“We are so proud of these two singles,” said Garett. “They truly capture the energy and vibe of what Cool Cool Cool has been up to. We’ve created something that feels amazing to play and even better to listen to! Each track showcases a different side of our sound while complementing one another. Together, they represent the balance between reflection and forward momentum in our music.”

“Above all else, we [Cool Cool Cool] love to make people dance and move,” added Elias, “and with ‘Dynamite’, we wanted to marry the up-tempo dance track with an emotional and empowering sentiment and of course, take it out with some blazing trumpet. I love how we layered it all together between all of us to really create a textural world.”

“We wrote and recorded these songs while the band was still developing its own sound and direction,” trumpeter/keyboardist Chris Brouwers explained. “It was an incredible experience to lean into individual strengths, and trust each other. It’s been so much fun to perform them live and watch crowds discover their favorite moments; I’m excited to share this music with everyone.”

The new releases cap a busy 2024 for Cool Cool Cool, now comprised of Elias, Garett, and Brouwers along with Greg Sanderson (saxophones), Craig Brodhead (guitar, keys), Deion Williams (drums), and Miles Livolsi (bass). “What an incredible year 2024 has been!” said Sanderson. “We toured every corner of the U.S.—from festivals, clubs, and theaters to snow-capped ski mountains—and even hit the beautiful beaches of Mexico. I’m so proud of my bandmates and friends for their hard work and immense talent in making it all happen. Releasing these two new singles feels amazing, and I’m excited to keep writing, playing, and spreading joy.”

Cool Cool Cool will get started early on its 2025 plans with a run of shows in Florida in February. In the spring, the band will head overseas for a Europe/U.K. tour during which it will once again serve as both the supporting act and the backing band for Talking Heads veterans Jerry Harrison and Adrian Belew‘s Remain in Light Tour.

After spending more than a decade traveling the world together with the touring act Turkuaz, the members of Cool Cool Cool decided to team up and form their own band in 2022. Their shared experiences, from playing dive bars to international festival stages, helped them develop a close bond that goes far beyond music. In Cool Cool Cool, this bond translates into a powerful synergy that allows each band member to showcase their individual talents, creativity, and passion.
