Cory Wong brought his bag of funky guitar skills to The Troubadour in West Hollywood, CA on Saturday for the latest stop on his ongoing world tour in support of his latest solo album, Motivational Music For The Syncopated Soul.

The guitarist and his band opened the 16-song performance with the dramatic NFL Sports theme before diving into originals including “Lunchtime”, “Dial Up”, “Welcome 2 Minneapolis”, “’91 Maxima”, “Clouds”, and “Companion Pass”. Wong then delivered the live debut of “Gumshü” which featured a special sit-in from bassist Tim Lefebvre. Wong followed that up by treating attendees to another live debut alongside yet another special guest as the band performed “Saint Paul” with help from Louis Cato.

Singer Phoebe Katis then made her way to the stage to help Wong perform “Juke on Jelly” before Wong continued the tail end of his sold-out show with “Today I’m Gonna Get Myself a Real Job”. Katis returned to help close the set with “Starting Line” before the band left the stage before a brief one-song encore of “Sidestep”.

Wong’s solo run of shows along the west coast continues on Sunday with a stop at the Music Box in San Diego, CA. Head to Wong’s website for the full listing of upcoming tour dates and ticket info.
