Boston-based retro soul/pop outfit Couch is making its biggest move yet: In addition to announcing the October 24th release of the band’s debut album, Big Talk, and sharing the LP’s first single, “What You Were Thinking”, the septet has set an extensive, multi-national tour for late 2025 and early 2026.

Formed during the pandemic through long-distance collaboration between friends, Couch built a devoted following online before ever playing a show. Since then, the group has shared stages with Lake Street Dive, Cory Wong, and St. Paul & The Broken Bones, appeared at notable festivals like Boston Calling and Levitate, and sold out its first U.K. run.

Big Talk, mastered by Colin Leonard (Beyoncé, Justin Bieber, Bad Bunny), captures the spirit of a band fully stepping into its own: lush arrangements, bold storytelling, and a chemistry forged both in bedrooms and on stage. “We tried to bottle the chemistry we’ve built on stage—and layer it with the kind of depth and detail the studio lets you lean into,” the band shared.

According to guitarist Zach Blankstein, the album explores “multidimensional love—romantic, platonic, self-love—and the kind of bold, honest connection that comes from shedding small talk and saying what you really mean.” That theme quickly becomes apparent on its lead single, “What You Were Thinking”, a slow-burn with vibrant production, tight horns, and commanding vocals that illuminates the chaos of a volatile relationship. Vocalist Tema Siegel reclaims her power in the wake of a mismatched and messy romance, delivering one of the most compelling performances the band has released to date. It’s a bold start to what promises to be a deeply personal and sonically expansive first record. Listen to the track via the player below or on your preferred streaming platform here.

From there, Couch will head across the pond for a tour of the U.K. and Europe in March.
